The armillary sphere (or astrolabe) patch was designed for a leadership event marking the launch of GE Aerospace as an independent and publicly traded business, set for January 2024. Originating from ancient times and associated with the Age of Exploration, the armillary sphere models celestial objects. I selected this symbol to honor and celebrate the significant moment in the company’s history. Alongside various promotional items, a sculptural armillary sphere was crafted using additive manufacturing, a forefront technology of the company, from solid titanium. This sculpture will be showcased during the event, symbolizing the business’s commitment to innovation and its promising future.
